Betty J. Hartmann Milwaukee - (nee Dantzman) Passed peacefully on February 25, 2022 at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of the late William F. Hartmann Sr. for 52 years. Loving mother of William Jr. (Patricia), David (Marilyn), Jane (Charles) Opichka and Michele (Frank) Kohanowski. Proud grandma of Jennifer (Andy) Wessel (the late Kevin Liermann), Jessica (James) Thorpe, Patrice Safka, David Jr. (Nicole) Hartmann, Christopher Hartmann (Sally), Lisa (Andrew) Nitka, Sarah Layton, Debra (Allen) Miller, Benjamin Kohanowski (Jeanne), Ashley (Eric) Phillips and Jacob Kohanowski. Beloved Great-grandma "B" of Riley, Alexi, Isabelle, Hunter, Alexander, Emma, William, Erich, Niklas, Zachary, Mattaus, Madeline, Megan, Dylan and Jack. Sister of Thomas (Charlotte) Dantzman and the late Joyce (the late John) Hyde. Sister-in-law of Kathleen (the late William) Miller and the late Stella Hartmann. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty enjoyed working with her husband and sons at Hartmann Furniture. After retirement Betty became involved extensively with St. Gregory the Great Parish, Christian Women, Widows Group and the Fall Festival. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty is lovingly remembered for the pig roasts (for 22 years), maintaining the prayer list for St. Greg's, purposely extending the sign of peace to everyone around her at Mass and to the children at the school Mass, her brownies, making birthday treats for her friends and putting candy bars in birthday cards for the grandkids and great-grandkids. The family is grateful to all at Aurora Home Hospice for their compassionate care and to everyone at Forest Ridge Senior Community Living, especially James. Visitation on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 3160 S. 63rd St., from 2 - 3:45 PM with Mass of Christian Burial at 4 PM. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Gregory the Great Parish appreciated.
