Beth A. Parish

January 7, 1961 — May 29, 2021

Beth A. Parish (née Wurtsbaugh) found peace surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 29th, at the age of 60. Beloved wife of devoted husband Mike, Beth was the dear daughter of the late John A. and the late Leah H. Wurtsbaugh, and loving sister of Martha Wegmann, Holly Wurtsbaugh, and Cristie (John) Keppeler. Beth was the cherished aunt to Jack, Phoebe, Julia (Andy Irvine) and Matt (Amy) Wegmann, and Leah (Channing Nunn), and Trent Lodge, Maddie, Jane, and Sarah Keppeler. Beth is loved and will be missed by many other friends and family. Beth’s life was exciting—her life was a well-lived adventure story, full of competitive outdoor activities, teaching, achievement, and a profound love of life. Beth will be remembered for her quick wit, intellect, generous heart, her beauty and strong spirit. Beth was an award-winning educator, teaching Honors and AP English and, for a time, Spanish at Badger High School in Lake Geneva since 1988. Beth was passionate about the joy and beauty of daily life, as she made even mundane activities a celebration. She loved the thrill of new adventures too, especially with her soulmate, Mike. Ice fishing, attending Packers and Brewers games, snowshoeing, flying her own plane as far as the Arctic Circle, competing in triathlons, speed skating, ski instructing on Vail Mountain, bird watching, fishing, earning three Master’s degrees, traveling to all 50 states and beyond, teaching English, cooking while listening to Mozart and picnicking are just some of the things that brought her great happiness and fulfillment. Memorial Gathering at Max Sass Funeral Home, Mission Hills Chapel, on Saturday, June 5th, 10 AM to 1 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 1 PM.
