Bartolo “Bart” Viscuso 1937-2021 Bart passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2021, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Maria Viscuso (nee Lodi) for over 51 years. Loving father of Teresa (Eric) Wozniak and Tina (Timothy) Thomas. Proud and devoted "Nonno" of Anthony Bartholomew Wozniak. Loving son of the late Antonino and Teresa Viscuso (nee D’Anna). Brother of the late Vincenzo (Lucrezia) Viscuso. Dearest son-in-law to Alessandro (the late Concetta) Lodi. Bart is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives and friends. Bart was born in Bagheria, Sicily in 1937. There he grew up on his family’s farmland and tended to lemon and orange orchards. His love of animals started there at a very young age. His family visited America several times and resided on Milwaukee’s East side. On his last visit to America, he decided to stay, and he met and married his love, Maria. He raised his family in the Milwaukee area. He was a kind, caring, hardworking, and joyful man. There wasn’t anything Bart wouldn’t do to help his family and friends. Bart retired from his career as a terrazzo floor finisher in 2001, after 45 years. He took great pride in his work and helped to apprentice many marble and terrazzo floor finishers. He made life-long, cherished, friends during his career. All who knew Bart knew his passion for small game hunting and gardening. He was a master gardener and there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t make grow. Bart enjoyed Italian folk music, dancing, and the Polka! He was an active member of the Italian Dance Group of Milwaukee for more than 25 years, where he danced along with his wife and daughters. He performed at the very first Festa Italiana on Milwaukee’s lakefront in 1978, as well as many locations around the country. Bart enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers during the Vince Lombardi and Bart Starr era. Bart won several awards at the Wisconsin State Fair with his Nubian goats. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, and friends. enjoying the outdoors, vacationing up north, vegetable and flower gardening, canning, cheese making, winemaking, hunting, fishing, watching Milwaukee Brewers baseball, and his pets. Bart will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We wish you peaceful rest in the beautiful, eternal gardens of Heaven. Visitation will take place at Max A. Sass & Sons-Greenridge Chapel (4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield, WI 53220) on Friday, January 29 starting at 11 AM until time of service at 12 noon. Private entombment at Forest Home Cemetery.
