Barney A. Galaszewski

Galaszewski, Barney A. Born to Eternal Life July 4, 2008 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Nee Korta). Loving father of Jim (Maggie), Eileen Galas (Hank Thunander), Tom (Cheryl) and the late Bill (Sue) Galaszewski. Dearest grandfather of Nick (Amy), Doug (Angela), Heather, Kristin, Janet (Jay) Hawes, Julie (Jake) Sippy, Tony (Katy) Skarlatos, Ryan and Chad. Dearest great grandfather of Benjamin, Mia Nichole, Ella, Emily, Ava, Alexis, Brooklyn, Kendall, Morgann, Mia Rae and Jaxson. Dear brother of Helen Dominiak and Bernadine Jackowski. Further survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Barney was a 40 year employee of Allis Chalmers as a journeyman machinist and various supervisory positions. Also a member of UAW local 248 retirees. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. He loved to play the concertina with his wife irene as vocalist in his band playing at numerous nursing homes and various other functions. Barney was a member of Ascension and Oasis Senior Meal sites and volunteering music, delivering meals to homebound seniors and transporting seniors to meal sites. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #49 and REAC (Retired Eagles Activity Club) # 4008. Funeral services Wednesday 9:30 AM from the Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home to the BASILICA OF ST. JOSAPHAT for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home TODAY July 8th from 4-8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM.
