Barbara J. Swessel

Barbara J. Swessel South Milwaukee - Passed away peacefully on August 12, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born on February 15, 1938 to the late Anton and Isabell (nee Grutza) Swessel. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School and spent the first 40 years of her career at Home State Bank. Prior to retiring, Barbara worked another 10 years at Ramsey Woods, where she continued to learn structure. Barbara enjoyed volunteering at St. Adalberts Parish, where she was a lifetime member. Barbara was known as the protector of those closest to her, especially her family. She radiated laughter, had a beautiful smile, was incredibly witty and had the ability to make anyone feel like the most special person. Barbara is survived by close friends, especially the Coury Family, as well as Joanne, Betty, and Patti. In addition, she is survived by multiple cousins, especially the Kruse and McMullin families in Michigan. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and canine pets. Visitation will be held at the Max A. Sass & Sons South Shore Chapel on Wednesday, August 18 from 10 AM - 12 Noon. Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Milwaukee division of the Wisconsin Humane Society.
