Barbara Ann Popp

Barbara Ann “Barb” Popp (Nee Hennington). Was born on February 28, 1943 and passed away peacefully on July 7, 2021 at the age of 78. Barb was a 1961 graduate of Bay View High School where she met her lifelong best friend and husband the late Gerald “Jerry” Popp. They married in 1963 and raised their 4 loving children on the south side of Milwaukee: the late Vincent (Kim) Popp, Jerilyn Budney (Mike Owsianny), Daryl (Dawn) Popp, and Kelly Sue Popp. Proud Nana of Maggie Popp, Max Popp, and Alexis Popp Harrison. Dear sister of Rev. Bruce M. Hennington. Preceded in death by her parents George and Eileen Hennington. Further survived by nieces and nephews, other loved relatives, and many dear friends. Barb was a nurse’s aide and social worker at St. Luke’s Hospital for over 40 years. In 1980, Barb proudly graduated from Alverno College with her Bachelors degree in Social Work. In retirement, Barb and Jerry enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Mission Hills Chapel on Friday, July 23 starting at 12:00 noon until time of Barbara’s Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
