Audrey Elizabeth Josko, age 102, of Franklin, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 11, 2024, of natural causes.
Audrey was born on July 21, 1921, in West Springfield, MA to the late Roy and Lena (Atherton) Arnold. She graduated from Colby Junior College in Boston and was in the first graduation class of Occupational Therapy. She worked as an Occupational Therapist in her early years and after raising her family, worked alongside her husband at the W J Josko and Sons Auctioneering and Appraisal Company in Southport, CT. Audrey was also an accomplished pianist and took great pride in the dozens of children she taught to play over the years.
Audrey was a great baker and blessed many with her delicious sponge and incredible German chocolate cakes. Dessert was the highlight of every Josko supper! She was the ultimate collector of dolls, bears and trains and all things rare and beautiful which she generously shared with her loved ones later in her life.
Finally, she adored her animals and was often quoted saying “I have 4 dogs, 4 cats and 4 boys”. Audrey was a regular visitor and friend of the Humane Society. She was known to come home with a new 4 footed friend often.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband William “Bill” John Josko and son John Atherton Josko. Audrey and Bill’s legacy were their sons David (Sue) Cooley Josko of Dover NH, John (Patricia) Atherton Josko of Daytona Beach, FL, James (Susan) William Josko of Franklin, WI, and Donald (Mary) Lauer Josko of Souix Falls, SD. Audrey also left behind 15 grandchildren and 40 great-great grandchildren. She had friends all over the country many who called her daily just to check in and share their adventures. Her family thanks them all for their love and devotion to their remarkable mother.
The family would like to thank the Brighton Hospice nurses and aids for their expertise, care, kindness and respect shown to Audrey.
