Arthur J. Manske Born to Eternal Life peacefully at home on August 20, 2022, at age 85. Loving and devoted father to Tom (Vicki), Tim, Denise, Greg, and Marie (John). Dearest grandfather to Ian, Melissa, Zach, Chris, Josh, Alisa, Jon, and Levi. Loving great-grandfather to Samantha, Violet, Tommy, Auburn, Serenity, and Keeva. Dear brother of Mary Ellen (Dolly), Patrick, Jeanette, Jerome (Kim), Matthew (Doreen). Wonderful friend and loving companion to Joan. Further survived by Helen, Gina, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Art was preceded in death by his parents Arthur R. & Florence (Dahlman), his brothers Gordon, Tom, Dennis, and Ralph (Mike). Art proudly served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard from 1954 to 1968 achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant. He served as Vice President at Wisconsin Novelty for many years before pioneering league pocket billiards in 1959. Art was the Founder and President of the National Pocket Billiard Association. He and his family successfully ran tavern pool leagues throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. Art Manske ran the largest pool tournaments in the country attracting players from around the world to compete in the most prestigiously recognized team events of the era. Art also stayed active in the jukebox and amusement game operator industry as founder of Hometown Amusement. Visitation at Max A. Sass Funeral Home, Mission Hills Chapel, on Monday, August 29th from 3 pm to 6 pm. Vigil service at 6 PM. There will be additional visitation at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9520 W Forest Home Ave, Hales Corners on Tuesday, August 30th 10 AM to 10:45 AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Followed by burial with military honors at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Art has made lasting impacts on the lives and hearts of his family, friends, and industry. He is legendary and will be forever missed.
