Arthur Francis Hayes

Hayes, Arthur Francis "Art" Passed away peacefully on February 10, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Art was born on August 29, 1931 to the late Arthur Hugh and Stella (nee Le Brun) Hayes in Menominee, Michigan . He is preceded in death by his sister Mary Estelle Anderson. He is lovingly survived by his cherished wife of 55 years Karen (nee Olesen) Hayes. Beloved father of Michael (Julia) Mueller-Hayes, James (DonnaLee) Hayes, Thomas (Cheryl) Hayes, Charles ( Virginia ) Hayes, Peter Hayes and Jennifer Hayes. Proud grandfather of Amber (Chris) Kunz, Anne, Jessica, Rochelle, Rebecca , Brittany , Verena, Elisabeth, Andrea and Nathaniel. Great grandpa of Elias. He will be missed by many other relatives, friends and winter Texans. Art was a graduate from Ripon College with a degree in math. He went on to complete a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He worked for 38 years as a Metallurgical Engineer for the Ladish Company, most recently as a Research and Development manager. Visitation at the Max A. Sass and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 13 from 4-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (6060 W. Loomis Rd) on Tuesday, Feb 14 at 10 AM. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Michigan at a later date.
