Passed away surrounded by family on January 1, 2021 at the age of 86. Lovingly survived by his wife of 62 years Nancy. Beloved father of Lisa (Michael) Vickery, Amy (Rick) Olszewski, Patrick (Ellen) and Christopher (Teresa). Proud grandpa of Matthew (Sarah), Jay (Jaimie), Jonathan, Alyson (Zach), Sam (Mackenzie), Ann (Rhett), Molly, Joe, Cole and Ella. Great grandpa of Isaac, Alexander, Liam, Sawyer and Baby Hull. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Arlo retired after 38 years with Milwaukee Public Schools where he taught Physical Education and worked as a Guidance Counselor. As a UW La Crosse grad, Arlo taught and coached at Milwaukee Riverside and Milwaukee Hamilton High Schools. Arlo was an avid tennis player and reader. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, biking and doing crossword puzzles. Arlo had a sweet tooth for Snickers and M&M's. Although, born in South Dakota he proved to be a true Wisconsinite with his love of the Packers, fish fry's and brandy old fashioneds. Arlo was the best grandpa in the world and will be missed by all who knew him. He was an active participant in his children and grandchildren's life events and sports. Memorial donations may be made to Feeding America of South Eastern Wisconsin or the Greendale Public Library. The family would like to thank the staff at the Elizabeth Residence in Franklin for the compassionate care they provided Arlo in the last year. A Celebration of Arlo's life will take place in the Spring of 2021.
