Angie’s mother and father were Clyde McGuine and Hortense, (also called Elsie), Krawiecki. They were married on October 12, 1929. Angie was born a little over a year later, on January 29th, 1939. Unfortunately, her mother Hortense, died about 2 weeks after giving birth to Angie. So, Angela was raised by her mother’s parents, Josephine and John Krawiecki. Besides, Hortense, Josephine and John Krawiecki had 2 other children who were raised with Angie, Lucy and Danny.
When Angie was about 10 years old, her father, Clyde McGuine, met Marion Jakubowski. They were married on October 17, 1936. They had one child, Thomas William McGuine born on February 28th, 1941. Angie enjoyed nature, and the family spent many happy summers in Hayward Wisconsin.
It was discovered shortly after Angela’s birth, that she had cerebral palsy. So Angie attended special schools. Her father, Clyde died of a stroke, early in his life on November 3, 1956. So Angie continued living with her step mother, Marion and her brother, Tom .
Angie met her future husband, Walter Grohall, at St. John’s school for the deaf. There was not a dry eye in St. Anthony’s church when Wally and Angie were married on August 1, 1959. Wally was deaf, and Angie was also handicapped, and everyone knew they married for love. Her brother, Tom, walked her down the isle, and “gave her away to Wally”. Wally worked for a deaf organization. They had very good marriage, helping each other with shopping, cooking, cleaning etc. Wally died of pancreatic cancer, on December 28th, 1993. Marion, Angie’s step-mother who lived with Angie and Wally, died two days before Wally on December 25th . So now, Angie was alone in the world. She has been supported in her life by her brother, Tom and wife, Shelly, and especially by her nieces and nephews, who took a very active role in her life, especially Kathy Huenink, Tom Jr. McGuine, Jean Jeter, and Patrick McGuine. Other nieces and nephews who supported her from a distance were Fr. Peter McGuine and Paul McGuine. Also, the children of these nephews and nieces were very kind in visiting Angie and helping as they could to keep Angie happy and make her laugh. Thank you to everyone for your support!
