Andrea Frances Dumar

DUMAR, ANDREA FRANCES MILWAUKEE – Born into Eternal Life on August 30, 2019 at the age of 70, after a valiant struggle against the effects of a major stroke suffered on July 3rd. Preceded in death by her parents Orville and Natalie (nee Chirnich) Dumar and nephew Stephen Wallner. Survived by her brother Roger (Marilyn), and sister Diana Wallner, nephew Nathan Dumar, and numerous wonderful, devoted, and caring friends – Gail Shayhorn, Pam Hennig, Ruth Richart, Heather Walsh, Cindy Krug,– and her beloved childhood friend Connie Sliger (nee Schwark) – all of whom, in their very own unique ways, on a daily basis, provided countless acts of love, caring, and support during her final days. Also survived by her special friend Jason Wasserman. Grateful thanks, as well, to all the caregivers at Aurora St. Luke’s for their patience and persistence during her seven weeks of hospitalization, and for their loving care during her final hours. Born in Milwaukee June 24, 1949, Andrea was a graduate of South Division High School, received her nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and retired from Aurora Health Care, having worked almost her entire career as an Emergency Room nurse at various Aurora hospitals, primarily Mt. Sinai, spending her final working years as a nurse at the Aurora West Allis Clinic. Andrea loved antiques, travel, shopping, clothing and jewelry, as those who knew her will attest. One of her favorite pastimes was her interest in gemology, in which she had become quite an expert. She was also a big supporter of several animal welfare organizations. Most of all, Andrea was a good friend, always willing to lend a hand when needed. Memorial Gathering for Andrea will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Greenridge Chapel on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 3:00PM followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wisconsin Humane Society would be appreciated.
