Ana Marina Boschke (Nee Medina) of South Milwaukee, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the age of 84. Ana was born on February 3, 1934, in Jiménez, Chihuahua, Mexico to José and Marina (Verduzco) Medina. While visiting her Aunt Connie and Uncle Bill Boschke in California for the summer, she answered the doorbell to a young Navy sailor, a cousin of Bill. Despite the language barrier, the spark of love was ignited. Through many love letters over the following months, Kenneth drove to Mexico to ask her father for her hand in marriage. At the age of 19, she and Kenneth were married in Jiménez and moved to Milwaukee to begin the start of our “Big Boschke Family.” Ana enjoyed crocheting, tending to her beautiful flower gardens, playing cards, cooking delicious meals to feed a crowd and traveling to Mexico to visit her family. You could find her in the kitchen, early in the morning, working on her crossword puzzles with a cup of coffee. She was brimming with pride when she could tell you about her family and the excitement of an impending new great-grandchild. Anyone who entered their home, was offered something to eat or drink and she made you feel welcome. She thanked God for so many blessings; leaned on Him to carry her through her illness and by the mercy of God, had faith in the hope of the resurrection with her Lord and Savior. We will miss hearing her cute little sayings, the whistling while she moved around, the words of wisdom, but most of all we will miss her beautiful soul who showed us the love of God by her smile and loving hugs and kisses. Vaya con Dios! (Go with God) Her memory lives on through the love of her beloved husband of 65 years, Kenneth; adoring children, Lois (Tom) Aumann, Patricia VonWald, Ken (Jean) Boschke Jr., Marina (Matt) Galewski, and Lee Ann (Gary) Zartner. Grandchildren: Alison (Bo), Jonathan (Sheila), Steven (Heidi), Melissa (Drew), Lauren (Scott), Adam, Ian (Kelly), Tiffany (Sean), Noel, Katie, Kyle, Billy (Jamie), Jillian (Spencer), Alexa, Haley, Sam, Abby (Zach), Mike, Ben, John and Stephanie; Great-grandchildren: Seth, Jack, Gavin, Lyla, Jonah, Julia, Mia, Bennett, Tanner, Everly, Bryce, Ephram, Liam, Graham, Zoey, Leo, Finn, Henry, Vincent, Nicholas, Lincoln, Elle, Harper and Hunter . . . and counting. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, José Luis and Mario Medina. She will be greatly missed by her loving brother, Francisco (Pancho) Medina; sisters, Grace Reyes and Carmen Regalado and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Visitation at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 800 Marquette Ave, South Milwaukee, Wednesday, December 19, 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment at Forest Hill Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ana’s name.
