Laska Alois E "Al" Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 12, 2015. Age 82. Beloved husband of Florence (nee Konkol) for 62 years. Dear father of Al (Rita), Caz (Diane), Steve, Dan (Lisa Tennies), Neal and Mark Laska and Julie (Rick) Gaskell. Proud grandfather of Brian Laska, Karen Voss, Scott Laska, Mary(Jesse) Lewis and Rachel Laska. Further survived by his sisters Regina (Barney) Trzebiatowski and Helen Firkus, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceeded in death by his parents, Andrew and Frances Laska, his siblings Edwin and Raymond Laska and Evelyn Zywicke, and his brother-in-law Myron (Glenes) Konkol. Visitation at the funeral home, Sunday, October 18, 4-7pm. Visitation also at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 3222 S. 29th Street on Monday, October 19, 10am - 10:45am with Mass of Christian Burial 11AM. Entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Memorials appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association of Southeastern Wisconsin or Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. Al was a proud employee of the City of Milwaukee's Bureau of Municipal Equipment, and retired after 32 years of service. He was known as "the man that could fix anything", enjoyed working on his house and car, and took great pride in his garden, especially his geraniums.
