Alice Reed

REED, ALICE (nee KUZMINSKI) (formerly JURKUS) Alice was born on Nov. 28 1916 to Frank and Frances Kuzminski in Cudahy Wisconsin Alice was married to Zanner Jurkus and then after his death to Raymond Reed. She is survived by her son Rev. Alan Jurkus of Greenfield, daughter Dr. Janice Jurkus, of Chicago "adopted daughter" Lisa Barczyk , stepdaughter Roberta Crapitto (Peter), stepdaughter-in law Marge Reed (the late Roger), stepson Randy Reed (Charlotte), and many nieces and nephews, step grandchildren and great- grandchildren, grandnieces esp. Cindy Kuzminski and Gloria Venski and grandnephews and other relatives and friends. She is the last of 10 children and was proud of being the "last one standing" Alice was involved in her church, Holy Family Parish in Cudahy and later Divine Mercy Parish in South Milwaukee. She had a deep faith, prayed daily and trusted in the Lord's providence. She loved to travel and had seen much of the world. She was very active and independent until she was 97. She was a devoted and caring mother and a loyal and concerned friend. She knew how to offer hospitality, her request to all who came to her home was "EAT EAT'. Funeral services will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 6060 W. Loomis Road, Greendale on May 2 with visitation from 1-2:45pm and Mass at 3pm. Burial will be private.
