Alfred S. Wielichowski passed away on March 11th, 2023, at the age of 95. Devoted husband of 71 years to Lorraine. Loving Dad of Diane (the late Robb) Schleck, Linda (Paul) Teske, and Carol (Jeff) Sobczak. Proud grandpa of John (Rita) Schleck, Lisa (Terry) Royea, David Schleck, Jake Sobczak, Jenny (Ivan) Peric, Erin (Adam) Ridosko, Emily, and Stephanie, and great-grandchildren Sawyer, Nolan, Ana, and Kayla. Al is preceded in death by his brother John (Gertie) Wielichowski, and sisters, Sophie (Stanley) Pendzich, and Helen (Don) Fisher.
Al was born in South Milwaukee to Andrew and Phyllis Wielichowski. He lived in the Milwaukee area throughout his life before becoming a longtime resident of Muskego. He opened Al’s Pine Ave Food in Milwaukee in 1969 and remained the owner and operator until 1984.
Alfred served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and got to take part in the honor flight.
He had many hobbies, such as hiking Emma Carlin trails looking for mushrooms, gardening, woodworking, and cross-country skiing. Al enjoyed making wine and teaching his grandchildren how to make homemade polish sausage.
Visitation will occur on Thursday, March 16th, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church (1720 E. Norwich St. Milwaukee, WI 53207) from 12:00 noon until the time of mass of Christian burial at 1:00 PM. Military honors at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery to follow.
