Alejandro A. Sanchez, known to all as Alex, was born in Milwaukee, WI, on April 28, 2009. His untimely death on May 19, 2024, in the very city that witnessed his first breath, has left his family and friends devastated and heartbroken.
Alex always knew how to light up a room with his big happy smile. He was kind and easy to get along with and such a good listener. He had so much more life to live. He loved his family and would do anything for them. He treasured the time spent hanging out with friends and was fiercely protective of his sister, Dalilah. They were the dynamic duo, partners in crime and laughter.
Family was the cornerstone of Alex's world. He was a cherished son, a beloved brother, and the grandson who could always be counted on to bring light into any room. Miguel Sanchez, his father; Amanda Poulin, his mother; Dalilah Sanchez, his partner-in-mischief; Kathleen Brandon and Edmond Poulin, his grandparents; along with a host of cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews from the Brandon, Poulin, Sanchez and Dominguez families, all held a special place in his heart and theirs. His extended family of friends, who saw him as a brother, and their parents, who thought of him as a son, are testament to the wide-reaching impact of his short but impactful life.
Words that best describe Alex are not hard to come by: thoughtful, courageous, interesting, funny. His courage wasn't just in facing his own battles; it was in the strength he gave others to face theirs. And 'interesting' barely scratches the surface of a young man who could hold a room captive with his big smile. He taught us to find the laughter in the pain, the silliness in the serious, and above all, the humanity in each other.
We will forever love you Alex.
