Alejandro James Lovett

Alejandro (Alex) James Lovett Alex was born in West Allis, Wisconsin, in the early morning of April 19, 1995, a gift for his parents, Sara and Juan. Alex was born with a contagious smile, always happy, calm and loving. He spent his childhood running around as one of the three Musketeers with his Uncle Troy and his brother Ricky. Through his teenage years, Alex began to experiment with drugs, as I assume lots of teens do. This was a really hard time, not only for Alex, but his family as well. But, as some are able to move past the experimental phase, Alex couldn't seem to kick the habit. With advice and guidance by John Richart, Alex made the decision to move to Stevens Point and move into an NA home in order to better his life and finally rid himself of these demons. Alex thrived in Stevens Point, attending church, meetings and NA group outings. He got a good job and he was happy, even more important, he was CLEAN. Everyone was so proud of Alex and how hard he had worked to change. Good things were in store for this young man. Alex had made many friends throughout his young life. And if you were a friend of Alex's, you were a friend for life. No matter where he lived he made sure to keep in contact with everyone, whether it was a post on Facebook, a good morning text, a quick snap, or the weekly calls he made to his mom. He made sure all "his people" were good. Alex could light up a room with his brilliant smile and wasn't afraid to get up in front of people and just be silly. He loved making people laugh. He found joy in seeing others smile. Alex loved nature and being outdoors. Loved frolfing, taking care of the horses on the reservation, jumping in a lake to cool off, or just sitting there and taking it all in. While we all saw Alex with that bright smile, he continued to struggle daily, as most addicts do, with his demons. He continued to go to meetings and had a few setbacks. But he would admit his mistakes and start the next day with day 1. He had a great support team and great friends, like Peter and Zach, or his girls, Leah and Nina, who stood by him and helped guide him back on the right path. Alex recently found out he was going to be a dad. He was so excited, so ready to take on this new challenge. For his birthday he requested books on how to be a "good dad". His little girl Aurora would soon be here and he wanted to make sure he was ready! But even through all the joy he felt, he just couldn't subdue the demons. Alex lost his battle the early morning of May 4th, 2018. They were too much for him to fight this time. Alex is survived by his heartbroken parents, Juan (Shanna) Prado, Sara (Jose) Zuniga, his 'pops' Fernando Colon Sr., his siblings, Ricardo Lovett, Fernando Colon Jr, Victor Colon, Catalina Prado-Turenne, Jaslynn Waupoose, Erika, Ariana, Amelya, Angelica, and Yesenia Prado. He is further survived by his grandparents, Lynn Thompson, Charles Lovett, Maria Prado, Shirley Smith, and Kathy Heinen and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew and friends. He is proceeded in death by his uncle, James Lovett and his grandparents, Anthony Thompson, John Heinen, Donald Smith, Marie Jones, and Tereso Prado. Celebration of Alex's life will be held at St. Alexander Church, 3344 S. 16th St, Milwaukee, WI on Friday, May 11th. Visitation from 9 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Adalbert's Cemetery, 3801 S. 6th St.
