Thomas H. Kosciesza, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. He was born September 10, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI to Henry and Clara (nee Wolinski) Kosciesza. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1959. Tom joined the Marine Corps in 1962. As a member of the First Battalion, Third Marines he was part of the first Marine unit in Vietnam. After spending two years in Vietnam he returned to the United States and was stationed at Camp Pendleton as a Game Warden. After serving 4 years of active duty he served an additional 2 years in the Marine Corps Reserves. When Tom left the Marine Corps he spent an additional year in California and then decided to return to Wisconsin. Tom worked for Prime Leather Finishes for 25 years until he retired in 2006. Tom loved to bowl, hunt and fish. Tom bowled for many years at Manitoba Lanes on 6th & Manitoba. Tom enjoyed camping and spent a lot of time at Fish Lake Campground and Petenwell County Park. Tom and Deb had a travel trailer on an annual site at the county park until they moved to Nekoosa, WI in 2009. Moving to Nekoosa gave him the chance to fish and hunt a lot more frequently. Tom had dear friends that helped him to be able to continue to fish and hunt even after his health started to decline. This meant a lot to him and his family because everyone knew that hunting and fishing were his passion. Tom was the type of person who made dear friends and maintained those friendships until the end. He was an honest, hardworking man who people loved once they met him. He touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his Wife Debra, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Family, friends, and others whose lives Tom touched are invited to the Max A. Sass Funeral Home, 1515 W Oklahoma Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53215 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. There will be a Celebration of Life picnic on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 1 pm. The celebration will be held at Greenfield Park 2028 s 124th St West Allis, WI 53227, site 2.
