Mary E. Borowicz (Nee- Dziedzic) was born to eternal life on March 9 th , 2023, at the age of 78. Beloved wife of 56 years to David W. Borowicz. Loving mother to Lisa (Mike) Elliott, and Dave (Cindy) Borowicz. Proud grandmother to Maggie (Gunnar) Carroll, Allison (Dani) Borowicz, Emily Elliott, Joey Elliott, and Joshua Borowicz. She is proceeded in death by her grandson David M. Borowicz.
A devoted wife, Mary and Dave’s love story began while sophomores at Notre Dame High School. The two continued dating while Mary attended Alverno College to study art and education and Dave attended UW LaCrosse to study physical education and health. Upon both of their graduations the two high school sweethearts married May 6th , 1967 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Milwaukee, WI. As her husband’s biggest cheerleader, she could be found sitting in the basketball bleachers wearing the team colors – whether that be for Tech, Stritch, Homestead, or Carroll – she always was willing and eager to celebrate anyone’s victory, whether big or small, your victory was her victory. During their 56 years of marriage their greatest joys included traveling to West Point, NY and up north Wisconsin to spend time with family.
A supportive, trusted sister and daughter, Mary loved sharing fond memories of growing up at the Dziedzic Pharmacy with her siblings, to include sneaking down for the occasional float from the soda fountain.
Loving and proud mother and mother-in-law to Lisa and Mike, and Dave and Cindy. Whether it was a loving word of encouragement, a one-sided talking-to, or a swift kick in the pants, Mary had a knack for giving her kids exactly what they needed. She was an amazing role model for them all and embodied the values of dedication, selflessness, and loyalty.
Mary absolutely adored her grandchildren Maggie (Gunnar), Allison (Dani), Emily, Joey, and Josh. What brought her the most joy was being their number one fan at every achievement whether that be a sporting event, graduation, concert, play, or special celebration. Her grandchildren could always count on her to use her creative and artist talents to contribute her own special touch to every milestone.
Every person that met Mary felt her warmth, light, and love. She had the unique ability to always make everyone feel special. She took great pride in welcoming family and friends into her home always offering snacks, a “sodie”, and a special “grandma dessert”.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17th, 2023, from 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (12700 W Howard Ave., New Berlin) until 12:00 noon Mass of Christian Burial service.
