Marilyn Mary Karen (ne Wiechers) Thomas died on August 27, 2017 at the age of 90 in Milwaukee, WI. Mary is survived by her son Timothy J. (Irene Ackley) Thomas, and daughters Natalie (Glen) Grafwallner and Tracey Thomas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Rebecca (Michael Anderson) Thomas, Timothy M. (Tina Viscuso) Thomas, Jay Grafwallner, and Julie Ren (Todd) Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Marsh Thomas, her daughter Terry Atkinson, her sister Judith Selden, and her parents Jerome and Margaret Bunny Wiechers. Mary was born on January 16, 1927 in Racine. She was a fixture of the social scene in Racine during her youth. She graduated from Washington Park High School in June 1944, where her nickname was Weekie. Mary attended Ripon College, where she met Marsh. They married on December 27, 1947. She was a member of the St. Marys Womens Auxiliary in Racine. Though Mary and Marsh moved to Milwaukee in 1974, she loved her hometown. An avid reader, she was a master at crossword puzzles and Wheel of Fortune. Mary loved conversation, cocktail hour, telling stories and a bit of gossip. Though well-versed in literature and film, she never understood what happened at the end of Vertigo. A memorial service will be held on September 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee.
