Lucille ‘Dolly’ Bernadine Gardetto (Gaszak), 90, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, in Frisco, Texas.
Lucille was born on May 17, 1933 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Lucille and Frank Gaszak. She lived her childhood and most of her young adulthood in the Milwaukee area. While in grade school, she started playing piano and discovered her creativity in her artwork. Her first job was working in her dad’s shoe repair shop as a bookkeeper. She continued to follow him to his place of employment, the Heil Company, where she was a keypunch operator. She left there to embark on a new chapter in her life ... being "Mom". A job at which she excelled. As her children grew, she later worked at the Cameo Nursing Home in Milwaukee as their receptionist. The family then moved to Memphis where she worked at University of Memphis. Her final move to the Dallas area gave her the opportunity to work for American Airlines’ Advantage Department helping members with their mileage awards. She gave great customer service to all members, famous or not. That was one of her most special gifts that she shared with the world. She was so proud to work for the airline. This allowed her to make several trips throughout the year to Illinois, especially at Christmas, and to attend other family events as well. We always made it a point to visit her family in Wisconsin. Whenever she came to town, she was welcomed by all with open arms. She enjoyed our backyard parties where the whole family gathered. Her Milwaukee based family always made sure to be there when they knew “Aunt Dolly” would be in town. When she became a grandma, she found she had so much more love to give. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and created many memories with each of them. She was loved by all. Our sweet, kind hearted mom always made it a point to make people feel special. She always had a warm smile and was ready to hug you. She will be missed and loved forever.
