DOLORES ANN BRODERICK (NEMETZ)

Dolores A. Broderick, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at her home in Greendale at the age of 87 on November 21, 2022. Dolores was the youngest child born to William and Florence Eleanor (Vogt) Nemetz on April 2, 1935 in Manitowoc. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in 1953.

Dolores wed John Broderick in June of 1955 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Dolores believed her most important role was to raise her family. She insisted that her children would be celebrated and have ample opportunity at education and extracurricular activities.

For many years, Dolores was an employee of the Greendale School District. She worked at Greendale High School as a study hall monitor and the Greendale High School cheerleader coach. Dolores would later take a teacher assistant position at College Park Elementary School. During her working years, Dolores continued to be active in her community. She joined and performed with a local theater group and a community choir. Volunteering was important to Dolores. She participated in the Reading Buddies Program and regularly served at her parish in various capacities. For many years Dolores would usher at various events held at The Pabst Theater and Milwaukee's Performing Arts Center.

Traveling was an important part of Dolores' life. She was a sponsor in the high school AFS program that enabled her to travel abroad multiple times. In addition, Dolores traveled extensively with family and friends. She found true happiness at her property in Door County.

Dolores is survived by her children, David (Jane) Broderick, Cheri Broderick and Pam (Doug) Lange. Devoted "Grandma Dodo" of Erin (Jon) Nichols; Laura (Steven) Walker; Jon Giles; and Carly Lange. "Great Grandma Dodo" of Connor Nichols; and Grady, Ronan and Colin Walker. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her husband of 43 years, John Broderick and sister, Marilyn Brault, predeceased Dolores.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM, December 5 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 6060 W Loomis Road, Greendale with Father James Pribek, S.J., officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:45 AM. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery 4141 South 43rd, Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
